Chemical and petrochemical industry. Mesuring solutions for unconditional precision and reliability.
Certified safety, guidelines and standards
The challenges of process instrumentation in the chemical industry are immense with regard to environmental protection and product safety, for example. We're aware of this and design our products to meet this challenge optimally. Maximum precision and unconditional reliability are our solution. We are familiar with strict international guidelines like PED or ATEX and know how to handle requirements with regard to chemical resistance or in explosive environments. In our sector we're one of the largest supplier for EPC contractors for the construction and maintenance of chemical plants.
For your special requirements, specialists, advisors and engineers with industry experience are available at Bourdon. Contact us to learn more on the Bourdon comprehensive portfolio. Information about available process connections, chemical seals, wetted parts material and factory services like calibration, material certificates and more industry specific documentation we gladly provide you and/or are available on this website for your own download.
A variety of byproducts from chemical processing in fertilizers production: nutrients for soil and plants, liquid and gaseous nitrogen, industrial urea, ammonia, industrial refrigerants and more. Our robust and precise gauges and seals are perfectly adapted to agressive media, high temperature and hygienic process requirements.
Traceable high quality materials and certified production processes are the main assets we invest on to guarantee operating efficiency in chemical pulping. We aim to guarantee safe operations for your process, equipment, business and people.
It´s a long way from refining of crude oil or re-refining to production of lubricants, plastics and other materials. Original Bourdon has been a leading supplier, continuously improving and expanding its portfolio for several decades. Whether it comes to temperature or pressure we provide customized solutions for all measuring tasks.
Several types of stainless steel, specific materials like Hastelloy or Monel as well as coatings or linings made of PTFE, Halar or Gold are protecting the instruments from aggressive, poluted or adherent process fluids. Our pressure and temperature measuring instruments hold up in harsh environments where highly viscous, toxic, corrosive and aggressive media are present.
European directive 2014/34/EU: Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (replaces 94/9/EC). Compliance is to be examined by a certified body and confirmed with a type examination certificate (e.g. TÜV). Bourdon declares the compliance of appropriate measurement instruments with the directive in the CE Declaration of Conformity.
Compliance with European directives. By attaching the CE mark, Bourdon declares the relevant product-specific compliance: The directives and any standards applied are to be specified in a “Declaration of Conformity” with the type designation of the device and the manufacturer’s address. With this document, which is to be presented on request, the manufacturer declares compliance on his own responsibility.
"Goods commercialized in the free trade EEC-area (Eurasian Economic Union - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kirghizstan) are subject to a system of certification that lies in the development of 66 technical regulation (CU_TR or TR_TC) of the EEC. The EAC (Eurasian Conformity) Marking, proves the conformity of products."
FM Approvals is an independent global testing and certification agency. The company developed over 200 approval standards illustrating the approval criteria of various types of products and services, among others, FM 2311 for Vacuum and pressure gauges for Fire Protection Systems.
NACE International, is recognized globally as the premier authority for corrosion control solutions. Specific Material Requirements (Eg. NACE MR0175) particularly relevant for instruments used during the extraction and processing of natural gas and crude oil. Bourdon can make recommendations for proper materials selection, rely on certified suppliers and provide material traceability, testing and certificates.
Independent organization in the US. Issues standards and tests products for compliance with special requirements, for example safety. Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is the counterpart in Canada. Listing is not mandatory for the simple sale in the United States and Canada, since our devices do not use voltages or currents that pose the risk of electrical shock or fire.
The success story of Bourdon is heavily marked by innovations. In the past years, many trend setting products have been brought to the market. Particular attention was given to product design, accuracy, and robustness of all products. These attributes set Bourdon products apart.
In order to realize ambitious future targets, Bourdon attaches great importance to research and development.
